With the forecast snow storm approaching, the farm stand will be closed this weekend.
This week we planted lots of early season crops directly into the field, hoping for lots of wet snow to germinate these seeds and get the season off to a great start. We continue to follow the old tradition of planting peas around St. Patrick's day. In addition, radish, turnip, spinach, lettuce, carrots and more are also tucked into the early spring ground eager for the moisture to swell and germinate.
Meanwhile, the greenhouse is filling up with beautiful starts. Come April we will have cold hardy plant starts ready for your home garden.
I hope you find a good book, make your favorite pot of soup and just stay cozy this weekend. Looking forward to seeing you at the farm stand next weekend.
