Pickling with Gelsey

Want to learn to pickle cucumbers and beans? The beans and cukes are perfect right now for canning. When the bounty from the fields comes in it is time to stock the pantry! Come learn Gelsey's old family recipes for making dilly beans and pickles.

Friend of the farm Gelsey will take you through simple recipes that you can recreate at home. You'll be hands on in a small class learning the techniques to pickle cucumbers and beans, and will get to take home what you pickle. All you need to do is bring an apron!

 

 

 

Class Title : Pickling Cucumbers & Beans with Gelsey

When: Wednesday 4:30pm - 7:30pm

Cost: $50 covers all materials

Class participants will take home sample jars made in class as well as recipes & techniques used in class to continue pickling on your own. Classes limited to 6 participants for guaranteed hands on experience.

About Gelsey Malferrari: Gelsey is the co-founder of the Laughing Coyote Project. Gelsey was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado on a community farm. Coming from a bilingual family, she spent many summers in Italy. Her passion for art was nurtured throughout her Waldorf education, and influences her to this very day. She graduated from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina and received a BA in Integrative Studies in 2006. At Laughing Coyote, Gelsey is the mistress of the garden, seed saving and all artistic endeavors. She is currently studying herbalism. Canning and preserving take up much of her time in the summer, and fiber arts in the winter. When not teaching she can be found cooking, knitting, making baskets and experimenting with natural pigments.
